The eBook provides authors with the ability to refer readers to online resources, but it’s a feature of the eBook that is quite under-utilized. When it comes to non-fiction books that have a particularly instructional purpose, it’s a potential feature that is just waiting to be exploited.

Now unfortunately, you can’t print resources directly from eBooks, or not without fiddling around with permissions and USB sticks. But once a read has bought an eBook, they have access to it not only on their eReader/Kindle/tablet but also on their desktop or laptop. So authors can direct their readers to open the eBook on a computer connected to a print where they can just click out of the eBook to a web address where they can then download a poster or a template or a form, and print it from their home computer.

That feature is what Katherine Gordy Levine has taken advantage of in her latest parenting eBook, ‘How to Hold Successful Family Meetings‘. This eBook offers some thoroughly convincing arguments as to why Family Meetings are such a great idea for the modern family. It includes details but adaptable step by step instructions on how to plan a Family Meeting and run a Family Meeting—and best of all, rather than just leave the new meeting leader on their own, it offers links out to Katherine’s Parents-Are-People-Too blog where free inspirational posters and templates for Family Meetings can be downloaded and printed (in PDF format) on standard A4 or letterhead paper.

‘How to Hold Successful Family Meetings’ is a Tool Kit, not just an eBook.
